Myth: Drinking coffee helps you lose weight.
Fact: Unfortunately, coffee doesn't speed up your metabolism. The caffeine in it may suppress your appetite a bit, but it does not truly help you lose weight.
To truly lose weight, you will need to exercise. Coffee may assist somewhat in appetite suppression since it does contain caffeine. Coffee also has been know to stimulate thermogenesis, a process in which the body burns calories. Yet, both of these have not proven conclusive in aiding with weight loss.
If you are trying to lose weight, loading your coffee with sugar and cream would not be advisable.
